RULES AND REGULATIONS
No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances
Please note: AGE is at JULY 1st 2010
THE ADJUDICATORS DECISION IS FINAL
No prize will be awarded unless there is sufficient merit
No public protest will be permitted at the session. Protests, if any must be made in writing and handed to the Convener within half an hour of the cause of the protest, and must be accompanied with a fee of $20.00 which will be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. The decision of the protest committee is final.
Certificates of merit will be awarded to 1st and 2nd places and Highly Commended in each session.
If you are unable to obtain set pieces (those set by the adjudicator) please contact the Convener.
Copies of all “Own Choice” items must be forwarded to the Convener no later than TWO weeks prior to the Eisteddfod, all school teachers with groups may submit “Own Choice” no later than THREE DAYS PRIOR to competition items. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. All copies are destroyed after each session according to copyright law.
No competitor may use the same selection in more than one section.
Copyright is the responsibility of the competitor and their teacher.
In “Own Choice” items competitors MUST NOT EXCEED THE TIME LIMIT specified in the program.
In “Own Choice” items competitors may not use a piece in which they have previously won first place at an eisteddfod.
In “Own Choice” items, the excessive use of foul or blasphemous language is not acceptable and may lead to disqualification.
Competitors will appear in the order shown in the program. But the committee reserves the right to make changes to the program if and when it becomes necessary.
No teachers, parents or friends of the competitors may go on stage or backstage.
All unauthorized persons will be asked to leave.
Competitors must be in readiness, backstage, before the commencement of each section. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Competitors wishing to withdraw from any item must inform the Convener before the start of the session.
Competitors must not address the Adjudicator during a session. All inquiries or requests are to be made to the Convener.
In Duo, or group items, competitors may appear only once in each section.
In Duo items, the names of both competitors must be shown. “And Partner” will not be accepted.
Groups of three or more may enter using a group name e.g. “the Wonderfuls”.
In Group Speaking, Schools entering a composition class must enter the section suited to the highest grade e.g. grade 5/6 must enter under grade 6.
“Theatre Blacks” consist of black pants and shirt. Costume piece/s could be a hat, a scarf, apron, glasses or jacket etc worn with theatre blacks to represent the character.
All sections are open to male and female competitors unless otherwise stated.
When competing on stage it is professional courtesy to dress appropriately e.g. no thongs, singlets or tracksuits.
NO MICROPHONES, AMPLIFIERS, [unless otherwise stated] VIDEO CAMERAS, CAMERAS, PHONE CAMERAS, FLASH LIGHTS OR ANY MECHANICAL RECORDING DEVICE MAY BE USED IN THE HALL AT ANY TIME.
