MISTAKE IN SET POETRY PIECE DRAGONFLY
Dragon Fly by Jean Kenward.
In the 3rd verse it says:
I wished I would stay and settle, but it went by..
The correction is:- “I wished it would stay and settle”
The poem has been corrected and this version is now on this web site. Many thanks to the child who asked the question – this doesn’t make sense?
Please return all perpetual trophies
Please contact a committee member to arrange delivery
Piano Solo 21 yrs & Over Granville Lions Perpetual – won by Thi Van Bich
Open Choral Contest 21 yrs & Over Perpetual Trophy - won by Fraser Coast Ladies Chorus
The Modern Ballad – a basic backing track [no harmonies/melody] maybe used.
Your backing track MUST be a LEGALLY purchased copy.
Your CD MUST be handed in 2 weeks prior to competition for the tech at the Brolga to compile a master CD which is to be used for the Item.
This is being done to ensure that all backing tracks are of the same sound level. Make sure your CD is clearly labelled with your name, item number, track number, song name.
RECORDING OF CD: * If the CD is prepared on a home computer, ensure it is finalised properly, and plays through a normal audio system.
Please do not use RW-CDs (Re-Writeable).
These are meant for computers and are sometimes not recognised in sensitive replay equipment.
Maryborough Eisteddfod/Brolga Theatre cannot be responsible for backing CDs, which do not play through the venue’s professional sound system.
* A separate CD for each Item is required
*Only the ONE TRACK RELEVANT to the Item should be on the CD
You are also requested to submit a BACK-UP CD of your track.
Maryborough Eisteddfod/Brolga Theatre take no responsibility for CD error.
If the CD should fail during your performance you will be permitted to leave the stage while the backup is programmed and start again without penalty.
Please wait for the Session Manager's instructions.
* Your Event number and Entrant number must be clearly written on the CD using an appropriate pen. These details must be clearly visible through its protective case. Do NOT use labels as this may cause CD failure.

Eisteddfod Programme Timing: There is always concern over the timing of Items throughout the event particularly on Vocal and Speech and Drama days.
The Convenors are aware that competitors are often entered in both Sections and clashes do happen – BUT – every effort is taken when the programme timing is done to try to avoid this occurring.
The most common reason for Items clashing is when competitors are scratched.
If timelines between one Section and another become suddenly close for you, as a competitor, please see a committee member and we will try to have you put at the end of the particular Item.
Remember, some Eisteddfods [such as the Qld Eisteddfod] Items are often held in different venues and you will find yourselves dashing up the street [often in the nick of time!] to perform.
Volunteers: VOLUNTEERS ARE AMAZING PEOPLE !
Tasks are varied at an eisteddfod i.e. announcing, office, catering, helping families find where and what they have to do, [the theatre can be a bit daunting for little people and first timers], scribing for adjudicators etc.
You will need a Blue Card and a happy disposition!!
Please contact a committee member if you wish to offer your time.
NOTE Next Meeting: MONDAY JULY 26th 2010
Maryborough City Hall: 7pm
